Dave Morris

Writer

Dave Morris grew up in Surrey and read Physics at Oxford before taking a change of direction into multiple cross-connecting careers at the cutting edge of creativity – as a writer, game designer and producer. He has published dozens of books, both fiction and non-fiction, and in 1991 was the top-selling author in the United Kingdom.

Dave has twelve years’ lead designer experience in the videogame industry and is the creator and designer of the realtime strategy game Warrior Kings, which shipped over 450,000 units worldwide, achieved scores of 95%+ in most leading games magazines and reached number 6 in the UK PC charts. He devised the development process used to build the game, which formed the basis for his award-winning industry textbook Game Architecture & Design and is a former mentor in the American Film Institute’s digital content lab.

He also created the classic fantasy role-playing game Dragon Warriors, which has recently been reissued in prestige hardcover format by Magnum Opus Press, and the ground-breaking gamebook series Fabled Lands. His most recent non-comics work was an interactive version of Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein.

Dave lives in London with his wife, Roz, also a bestselling author, and is godfather to Leo’s son Inigo.
